FRANCIS OTOLE is a fast rising African Poetry Voice. I call him the Poet of. His verses raves the mind and shells the heart box like Afro-Jazz.And the rhythm is the soft rain sound of the MBIRA– a thumb piano. The burden of truth carried in his poesy is hefty , bone cracking and heavy to carry in our ever pain scalded souls. The simple -deep lyrics are classical, educative and entertaining . Here verbal dexterity is laced with with human reason and the preservative is dramatic humor. OTOLE writes about life , humanity , spirituality reverence and confessional poetry. FRANCIS OTOLE is the Guest Editor of the BRAVE VOICES POETRY JOURNAL June edition.

WONDER
I kind of wonder
What happens under,
When super powers,
Emptied of their hours.
When rival s/heroes
Grind themselves to zeros.
I kind of wonder
How the rage of anger
That belch the bombs
And swallow in tombs,
How the acclaimed braves
Themselves from death, cannot save.
It’s a feeling fonder
There is a perfect place under.
Above, what they fight themselves over,
Below, it brings together as lovers.
Above, eternal sworn fiends,
Below, lie together as best friends.
I kind of wonder
What would make them under
Not hesitate to drop the bombs
Yet raise no sound in their tombs.
They stand to yell with laud a voice
And lie together without a noise.
WOMANITY
If God is human
He did be a woman;
Jealous
And joyous,
Loving
And moving,
Merciful
And blissful,
Effeminate
And compassionate.
Even in sin
I have seen;
A compassionate mother
Going beyond border,
A passionate lover
Of many flaw covered,
A jealous daughter
Cured her pains with laughter,
A joyous sister
Welcomed her wayward mister.
MISS EDUCATION
Train a child on ways to follow,
You won’t dwell a thought in sorrow.
Train well, a girl,
You won’t find yourself in hell.
Train well, a girl child,
For shame you won’t hide.
A well trained daughter
Is a resources of laughter.
In building a society
Free from anxiety,
You need a woman honest,
Dressed in characters,modest.
When building a home foundation,
In need, is a woman of solid education.
A woman of learning
Is a family prized earning.
The greatest weapon of destruction
Is a woman denied instruction.
She moves without direction
And explodes at every correction.
BIG TIME LOSER
I thought I had plenty,
Now you’re gone, I feel empty.
Living alone with my ego,
The whole room seems to echo.
Expanding our gap once closer,
I realized I’m a big time loser.
The receding drone of your footsteps
Rained on me like hailstones without help.
Now, I got my head; heavy and sinking,
My breath;rancid and stinking.
Lately I have been deeply thinking
Which sunk me in helpless drinking.
