Our  new Associate Editor and Special Projects Curator  brings  with her  a wealth of ideas , creativity ,organisational energy   and  literary arts  prowess. Darcie Friesen Hossack  oversees , engineers  , edit and curates WordCity Monthly (  newest   TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC monthly project). Hossack  becomes the new Project Manager of  the FREEDOM Voices PRIZE   and the 2020 installment  covers all literary genres.  Prolific  Storyteller and dedicated Literary Arts Curator  , Darcie Friesen Hossack also acts the Projects Advisor to the TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC Founder  and Chief Editor. FREEDOM Voices Prize  was  established  in August 2019  and recognize literary arts combatants around the world . It began as an only poetry contest  and as from  October 2020 Freedom Voices Prize will cover all writing genres that include short story, flash fiction , hybrid mix , poetry and memoir.   Canadian Storyteller , Writer and Literary Curator  Darcie Friesen Hossack takes over the Coordination of the global Writers Prize  . Hossack brings energy , creativity and literary flare to the  coordination of this  FREEDOM Voices Prize.The Prize seeks to promote  Tolerance, Human rights, Freedom of Expression and Creative Resilience among peoples of the world through  resilience poetry and literary genres by writers /poets of all ages in Africa and beyond.

 

 

DARCIE SPECIAL

 

Darcie Friesen Hossack  is TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC  Associate Editor and Special Projects Curator .A  graduate of the Humber School for Writers. Her short story collection, Mennonites Don’t Dance, was a runner-up for the Danuta Glede Award, shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the Ontario Library Association’s Forest of Reading Evergreen Award for Adult Fiction. Citing irreverence, the book was banned by the LA Crete Public Library in Northern Alberta.Having mentored with Giller finalists Sandra Birdsell (The Russlander) and Gail Anderson Dargatz (Spawning Grounds, The Cure for Death by Lightening), DARCIE is now completing her first novel where, for a family with a Seventh-day Adventist father and a Mennonite mother, the End Times are just around the corner. DARCIE is also a four time judge of the Whistler Independent Book Awards, and a career food writer. She lives in Northern Alberta, Canada, with her husband, a chef.
