NANCY NDEKE   smokes away the menacing, cantankerous, life-demising, demonic, devilish virulent    COVID 19 pandemics with a mind tilting collection of  verse. TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC is proud to exhibit  a  fresh philosophy concocted poetry beverage A BRIDGE TO A BRIDGE THROUGH A BRIDGE penned by our  African Poetry Tigress .  Dear reader, get ready to be blown away by the metaphor ripples of literary consciousness and then inhale the fresh oxygen of prowess and reason. The collection adds up an already wisdom congested book shelf of the tireless, resilient and diligent African Poet Nancy Ndeke.. I do not want to be carried away to write a blurb, the blurb is already in place courtesy of the African Poetry Tigress- by Curator Mbizo Chirasha.

The reader will find many questions and few answers, and that is because life is a constant quest. The reader is then afforded a chance to think, and in doing so, possibly empower the self to a better human. Topics range from why divisions exist between races, to the vagaries of injustices as recorded by history. The great theme of being in mortal man ruling kin with the hands of self-appointed god-head raises the question of morality and truth as presented by those with an agenda other that general good to all. Love, whether for fellow man, Country of deity are themes that preoccupy many a poem. The motif of the Bridge which this book borrows so generously from, is symbol of the inter-connectedness all there is in our world. From past eternity, through history and movement of people to belief systems that pit one group against another. The book asks for the reader to engage his/her mind in a renewed manner. There is hope for humanity even at the worst of times. Nancy Ndeke is an avid reader who writes as much. Nancy draws her writings from both observed living and personal experiences. She is a child of nature by the fate of birth having been born and bred in a rural setting before climate change vagaries became a reality. Through school and travel, her eyes experienced the wholeness of the other enriching her further. Her work experience in was ravaged countries further brought to her the sad reality and tragedy of wars-( Blurb by  NANCY NDEKE).

HERE, where everything goes and nothing comes,
This land bearing the scourge and scars of ancient wars,
Lessons abide.
Loss is to every man at one point.
The shoe finally shifts to another foot.
What you do to another at one point will be done to you.
Poverty is not always about food for the worst is bad ideas.
Greed is a dumb foundation to build a legacy.
A lie is not white and neither any other color.
That a fool is not an iliterate man but one without ideas of his own.
That to follow blindly is akin to torching your house.
The richest land is as rich as it’s poorest man.
Now ask Africa to give examples!
And how it arrived at where it never set to.

Once upon a heart tender,
You brought me a love and a wedding,
I danced fit to fall,
Reeling with joy unknown.
Once upon a heart rich,
You brought me an ache and a death,
The scars still tremble,
With an audible sigh,
And here you are again, Emperor of errors.
Am still here, not so much worried,
But balanced on the facts,
That your gifts can be ambiguous.
Still, pass by.

Exhilarating, euphoric,
Is the thrill of fat purses,
Amid the dashing cameras
and red carpets.
Higher than kites,
Soaring like eagles,
Pledges are taken and vows owned,
Tell non but the initiated says the shaman,
Pay to belong give to receive.
The high priest bathed in red water.
Drinking the ponds of purity of death.
A lost world losing more,
For the trader focuses on profits,
Like the devil on your fall.
A world of glitter doused in perfumed stench,
Building falsehoods into an empire,
One fed by the unwilling forced by the willing,
Death is cheapened for life to be expensive.
What a Shame that dust rises above it’s maker,
With it’s tutoring from a total failure.
