Real poetry spews hard truth into itching for -death eyes of goblin like blood-sucking unrepentant warlords. Real Poetry scalds to the inner-deepest core   the corruption oiled skins of double bellied political fat- cats with their long -tyranny cracked hands wiping human freedoms off this our once peaceful and sacred earth. Real poetry spanks heavily onto the bolt nut skulls of die-hard racial supremacists killing innocence in broad daylight. Jane Spoken word, yours is not only art for the sake of art. Yours is a verve of resistance. It is verbal recipe of resilience, revolutionary. Your protest lines heave with sorrowful tears of mothers who lost wombs in the charcoal of racial madness. Your imagery is pregnant with vitriol heavy in the hearts of devilish political demigods.  And more to it, your lyrical gymnastics is highly captivating, your ability to connect, street slang and traditional Oxford diction amounts to dexterity. You are the Voice of the Voiceless. You speak and write for the living and the dead. The marrow and bone of your verse is unbreakable. You are the brand literary arts ambassador of hard truth. You represent protest, resistance and resilience voices. Your verses are   cactus spikes that dig in the iron fists of tyrants.   TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC celebrates with you in speaking truth to political power. We cherish your candidness as your words prevail along with our new culture of resistance against racist-supremacist killings #BLACKLIVESMATTER. We chant protest, we fist up resistance. Together We Rise- (Blurb by Mbizo CHIRASHA).

T’s A BLUES DAY

I can’t seem to shake this heavy shade of sad.
I don’t know why.
For the life I lived?
For the times I cried?
Each breath exhales pain that eyes will never see.
My soul cries out in vain
is this who I be?
I can’t seem to shake this heavy shade of sad.
I don’t know why.
People walk on by.
Lost in virtual realities.
Eyeless sockets
breathless lips
gazed and dazed
living on a page
thumbs on eternity.
The question is
Why?
I can’t seem to shake this heavy shade of sad.
I don’t know why.
C’est moi … I am here.
I survive.
I have sung the wordless song
sipped the nectar of a crescent moon.
I have a love that loves
I have a sun that shines.
I do not walk alone
friends be by my side.
The question is
Why?
I can’t seem to shake this heavy shade of sad.
I don’t know why.
Invisible darkness cannot lay claim on me.
As I navigate life’s timeless sea
skies are blue
people are kind
second line smiles are bright
but it’s dark as night
in this
heavy shade of sad.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

We are living in a time of certain doubt.
Cruel men and mean women wielding their self-anointed power of bibles.
Piously pulling verses over our eyes.
Poisoning us with dark lies.
Wretched faces hating at me from tv screens.
Screeching eternal damnation screams
in the name of their gods.
Americas royal lineage of preachers and politicians.
Immersed in godly superstitions.
With every breath condemn us to a hellfire rain
on an endless trek of fears, death and pain.
Vengefully severed from the promised garden
surrounded by wailing walls of lamentation.
Rising from the volcanic mud of beasts
they prey upon us at their sin eaters’ feasts.
Death makes angels and devils of us all.
Made naked, born to suffer for your heavenly rewards.
Crucifix around my neck
‘hail mary’ on my lips.
Contemplating murder
or
forgiveness.

CALLING 911 Calling 911
’cause you’re not comfortable?
Understandable
’cause you’re so uptight.
Your ignorance betrays your white.
Their blackness scares you. There is no understanding while everybody’s ranting.
Until there is conversation it’s a volatile situation.
Tiki’s lit
monsters on the loose
donald’s spewing shit
whitey’s dustin’ of his noose.
What are you waiting for?
Call in 911Black cat on the corner
singing his doo wop tune
minding his own do what he do.
Hoodie’s in disguise
just walk on by.
Walk on by.
Walk on by.Calling 911
’cause you’re not comfortable?
Understandable
’cause you’re so uptight.
Calling on we who see.
Fight the powers that be
before they burn down the house.
Before they bring us down
to drown
in their swamp.
Tic Toc
Tic Toc
Fuse is slowly churning.
Tic Toc
Tic Toc
Brother’s house is burning.

Write on.

Peace, Jane

                        LEGENDARY Jane SpokenWord

JaneSpokenWord

Street poet Jane SpokenWord’s performances represent the spoken word as it is meant to be experienced, raw, uncensored and thought provoking. From solos, to slams, duo’s, trios, and bands, including a big band performance at The Whitney Museum with Avant-Garde Maestro Cecil Taylor which garnered All About Jazz’s Best of 2016. Other collaborations include: Min Tanaka, Miguel Algarin, Beat Poet John Sinclair, her son HipHop musician/producer DJ Nastee, and her partner in all things Albey onBass. Combining the elements of spoken word, music, sound and song “Like those of the Jazz poets, the Beats, The Last Poets, Gil Scott-Heron and others – she is usually accompanied by Albey onBass Balgochian’s moaning, groaning, rumbling contrabass – adding double the gut-punch to her words.” (Raoul daGama) To preserve the cultural heritage of wording to document life, and foster a broader collective community, she brings her poetry and spoken word to a diverse set of venues including museums, festivals, libraries, slam lounges, art galleries, clubs, busking street corners and living rooms everywhere. She has authored two books of poetry with art and music by co-author Albey onBass: ‘Word Against the Machine and Tragically Hip.’ Publications include: TV Baby A collection of Lower East Side artists – OHWOW, Shadow of The Geode – Bonsia Press, Stars in the Fire and Palabras Luminosas – Rogue Scholars Express and We Are Beat the National Beat Poetry Anthology.
