Jon Wesick writes micro -poems, the depth is belly pit and as the beat drums up our heart-caves. Reason within is water-pot tight-filled with mind-tilting metaphors. The imagery is a combative testimonial of defiant ghosts of historical wars fought and lost or fought and won. The set of poems is a memoir of past struggles and legacies. His diligently weaved verses are both bold and militant, readers might be persuaded to come to the conclusion that the poet is a former combatant of war and that his versifications are a prolific recollection of his rigorous experiences in some revolutionary struggle. Poet Jon Wesick pens beautiful but bold verse that identifies with history, the struggles and the cultural past. Wesick is an accomplished poet, widely published author and an acclaimed literary arts projects Editor. TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC is profoundly gratified to profile excellence, prowess and creativity in the personality of great literary arts projects Curator, Published Poet and Distinguished Editor Jon Wesick. Three years ago I met Ana Pedroso, a Cuban poet who lives in Milan. She worked in the association Poetry is my passion which organizes events with the international artist community in Milan. Straight away we found out, that we were a perfect mixture of working-mentality, she has the Latin spontaneity and I have the German organization. In these three years we have organized more than 50 events in different places in Milan. We brought poetry to strange places like Jazz clubs, fashion fairs, in the courtyards, on the street. The aim is to bring poetry to people who normally don’t listen to poetry. We now are 5 In our team, Betty Gilmore , an afro -american blues poet singer, Rufin Doh a poet, and famous actor from Ivory Coast, Meisam Seraj from Iran, Ana Pedroso from Cuba and me the only European.
James Coburn masters the art of storytelling through verse. His poems bleach the racial misery clutching the land of promise, America. The protest poet treads on unusually ironical and paradoxical tarmacs, he vehemently interrogates the matters of black lives and questions the brutal violence against the black race through resistance poetry. The revolutionary verse-slinger rises beyond the usual and obvious as he puts American dictatorship at task against the background of the wantonly racial killings, with the cold-blooded demise of George Floyd, a callous act that received condemnation and demnation from the everything that breathes on earth. James Coburn speaks sand paper hard truth to power, charlatans and zealots have since become wolves and hyenas in broad light. The consciousness packed poetry is a biblical revelation and re- awakening tutelage to the grief laden and COVID 19 diseased earth gripped by hate, terrorism and racial violence. TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC is delighted to profile, publish and feature the master of protest and resistance poetry James Coburn. - (Blurb by Mbizo CHIRASHA).
