REALITIES OF WALKING INTO THE NEW AGE OF THE NEW NORMAL: Writing my paradoxical eulogy for the year 2020 (A Personal Essay by Mbizo CHIRASHA)

The dawn of 2020 rose   with rays of promise alongside a dark cloud pregnant with the   iron wind .The life sapping and hope scorching iron wind perilously strangled every corner of this our earth of God. It ruthlessly  unleashed  wings of death onto  the  brave- land, America , into the oil sodden sand dunes of Persian Gulf  to the dreamlands of  South America , Trinidad and Tobago  , Naracargua and  unto the rice fields  of the great  Mahatma Gandi ,  the supreme land of India  up to the vast rainforests of the Amazon basin , the Brazil  . It raved through the British Columbia .The dark cloud and the heavy wind screeched their fart into the holy valleys of Jerusalem, the land of promise into Teleaviv and Gaza Strip.  The Iron Wind skidded to a sudden halt in city squares of land that was once ruled by the iron fist of authoritarian fascist Benito Mussolini, into the Roman Catholic capital of Vatican, Italy. Pakistan and Palestine were not spared either, by the virulent Iron Wind. Then into Africa North of Sahara and Africa South of Sahara.

Griot Mbizo Chirasha and Poet James Coburn writes Metaphors on the Palms of the Rainbow .

As do the souls of Men reflected on their actions and words in this arena of the incessant flow of the River of life that answers to humanity. From the land of the Brave (USA) and other accolades from history, comes James Coburn, a world acclaimed master story teller in verse. From the heart of Africa, the cradle of man, is the great griot black poet Mbizo Chirasha who has remained a fugitive from his home country of Zimbabwe for his courage and bravery in daring to question the leaderships in office about corruption and human rights abuse. What a twosome!! To read through their incredible book, METAPHORS OF THE RAINBOW, is to be invited to a surgical room where injustice is being addressed by un-apologetic poetic surgeons with no visible anesthesia, with microscopic detail. Sharp metaphors, drilling imageries and the prowess of a river smooth, sure and guaranteed knowledge of its power, delve deep into the social tumors of injustice as it’s stared at and condemned in classical hyperbolic phrases that ring into the readers ears long after putting the book down. Experience in the field of fighting injustices in human rights related situations, has birthed incredible verses that resonate with each man’s wordsmith excellent recital. That this book is dedicated to world poets of resilience, resistance, human rights crusaders and social justice advocates goes to showcase art rising to the fore of leadership in writing to right the wrongs that plague societies and individuals in our world. Come sample the awesomeness of the rainbow rich in its bitter sweet array of verses. A must read for all (Nancy Ndeke Author of A Bridge to a Bridge Through a Bridge)

Rita B. Rose, this set of poems carries rarity, quest for freedom and resilience. It is spiritedly revolutionary in both presentation and meaning. This freestyle is diligently concocted with lyrical prowess and profound reason as diction is dished out freely without any horse- buckling. The poet, activist and writer in Rita Rose is a free spirit, a liberated morning bird humming hymns for the freedom of the other section of our humanity that is stigmatized and oppressed because of barricades set by cultural stereotypes, unrestrained buckles of political thuggery. Time of the Legend with poet Jon Wesick

Jon Wesick writes micro -poems, the depth is belly pit and as the beat drums up our heart-caves. Reason within is water-pot tight-filled with mind-tilting metaphors. The imagery is a combative testimonial of defiant ghosts of historical wars fought and lost or fought and won. The set of poems is a memoir of past struggles and legacies. His diligently weaved verses are both bold and militant, readers might be persuaded to come to the conclusion that the poet is a former combatant of war and that his versifications are a prolific recollection of his rigorous experiences in some revolutionary struggle. Poet Jon Wesick pens beautiful but bold verse that identifies with history, the struggles and the cultural past. Wesick is an accomplished poet, widely published author and an acclaimed literary arts projects Editor. TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC is profoundly gratified to profile excellence, prowess and creativity in the personality of great literary arts projects Curator, Published Poet and Distinguished Editor Jon Wesick. A Candid Writers- Lounge Colloquy with our hallowed Poetry Professor Emeritus Dewitt Clinton.

The newest collection of poems (October 2020) is a book length poetic adaptation of 114 poems in Kenneth Rexroth’s 1971 publication (New Directions) of his One Hundred Poems from the Chinese.Poet, editor and publisher Michael Dickel (Is A Rose Press) and his team worked on developing a stunning presentation, with a world book launch scheduled from Milwaukee on Nov. 11, 7:30 pm CST. “By a Lake Near a Moon: Fishing with the Chinese Masters” was a delight to work on, especially as I had spent many previous years developing Holocaust response poems, some short and some very long. I admit I was looking for something to help cleanse my old spirit of such dark times. Perhaps I can send a flyer from the host, Boswell Books of Milwaukee. The next book project is accepted for possibly late 2021 or early 2022, newer poems under the working title, “Hello There,” a collection of mixed poems from years ago, and a few months ago. I hope these three newer books will add to earlier books based on Conquistador narratives, primarily translated Spanish narratives. Who knows what’s next, or if there will be a “next” in these Covid-19 times.

Meet the Multi – Awardwinning Greek Author,Eva Petropoulou Lianoy .

hen a wordsmith masters the art of paradox, the lyrical presentation is usually immersed in spirited waters of love, raging waves of protest and heart raving belly pit passion. Greek lyricist and Poet Eva Petropoulou Lianoy masters the art of paradox, imagery sparkles with traces of defiance and is then stirred together with remnants of lost affection, the concoction becomes poetry, real poetry is a beverage we drink and we sleep with our sandals. It is a half rolled imboza heavily clutching on our word -hardened skulls from night to dawn. I drink paradox like we do to profoundly matured Kgalagadi red wine. Naturalist Georgette Howington walks onto literary podium singing Earth Poetry.

I have read poems dressed in hot gowns of political metaphor. Most verses are fat with protest as Juvenalian satire is always carved onto the plaques of resistance as word-slingers spew resilience against unending earthly struggles. Poet Georgette Howington creatively changes the regular political narrative, she confidently struts onto the literary podium and her earth poetry dons green imagery. The rarity of her subject- lines is profoundly astounding given the current trending settings of pain yawn and groan. Poet Howington delves onto a unique but a special theme of environment and soil sciences. A multi-gifted wordsmith, environmentalist and conservationist. Her dictionary is in sync with natural life . We interdependent and interconnect to both earthly and water ecosystems. They play a pivotal role in our lives and we profoundly attach more value to them. Poems by Howington are gems of green revolution and glints of climate consciousness. TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC embraces diversity of ideas, cultural tolerance, inclusivity and creativity in the personality of distinguished environmentalist, agronomist and green earth revolutionary poet Georgette Howington- (Blurb by Mbizo CHIRASHA).

Time of the Legend with Revolutionary Poet Jane SpokenWord.

Real poetry spews hard truth into itching for -death eyes of goblin like blood-sucking unrepentant warlords. Real Poetry scalds to the inner-deepest core   the corruption oiled skins of double bellied political fat- cats with their long -tyranny cracked hands wiping human freedoms off this our once peaceful and sacred earth. Real poetry spanks heavily onto the bolt nut skulls of die-hard racial supremacists killing innocence in broad daylight. Jane Spoken word, yours is not only art for the sake of art. Yours is a verve of resistance. It is verbal recipe of resilience, revolutionary. Your protest lines heave with sorrowful tears of mothers who lost wombs in the charcoal of racial madness. Your imagery is pregnant with vitriol heavy in the hearts of devilish political demigods.  And more to it, your lyrical gymnastics is highly captivating, your ability to connect, street slang and traditional Oxford diction amounts to dexterity. You are the Voice of the Voiceless. You speak and write for the living and the dead. The marrow and bone of your verse is unbreakable. You are the brand literary arts ambassador of hard truth. You represent protest, resistance and resilience voices. Your verses are   cactus spikes that dig in the iron fists of tyrants.   TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC celebrates with you in speaking truth to political power. We cherish your candidness as your words prevail along with our new culture of resistance against racist-supremacist killings #BLACKLIVESMATTER. We chant protest, we fist up resistance.
