Author OMWA OMBARA is a prolific African Voice in Diaspora. Her resilience hardened verses send a rebellious jab to the cantankerous, unrepentant COVID 19 pandemic. She sings a bitter hymn against chair warmers and lazy hands -on- keyboard scribes, who thrive on abusing and harvesting the sweat of resilient writers and voices from digital thicket, without any ounce of their own effort. Her rebuking lines in her hefty protest poem IN HONOR OF PRESS FREEDOM DAY 2020, a Satire glow with hard truth and snorts in the remorseless faces of double-chinned charlatans and double bellied pseudo media bosses burying the pseudo revolutionary imbecility in borrowed political berets. The Protest Poet is not holding her horses, back she throws sharp jibe into the belly of COVID 19 and her irritating twin imbeciles daughter Quarantine and Lockdown.

ALAN BRITT has been nominated for the 2021 International Janus Pannonius Prize awarded by the Hungarian Centre of PEN International for excellence in poetry from any part of the world. Previous nominated recipients include Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Charles Bernstein and Yves Bonnefoy. Preferring to "lean and loafe at his ease," he is troubled by the corruption and ambivalence that permeates the Great Experiment, so politically speaking he has started the Commonsense Party, which ironically to some sounds radical. He believes the US should stop invading other countries to relieve them of their natural resources including tin, copper, bananas, diamonds, and oil, also that it’s time to eliminate corporate entitlements and reduce military spending in order to properly educate its citizenry, thereby reducing crime and strengthening the populace in the manner that the Constitution envisioned. He is quite fond of animals both wild and domestic and supports prosecuting animal abusers. As a member of PETA, he is disgusted by factory farming and decorative fur. A graduate of the Johns Hopkins Writing Seminars he now teaches English/Creative Writing at Towson University.
MICHAEL MWANGI MACHARIA is one bold and brave voices from beyond the misty hills of Kirinyaga. His poetry boxed beat echoes in caves and crevices of hills of home. He speaks freedom to this earth whipped to pulp by death, war, quarantine and disease. His micro -verse FREEDOM is a heave of relief to the COVID 19 beaten humanity locked in their house’s day and night in the name of bondage tag -named LOCKDOWN alongside his twin brother cantankerous QUARANTINE. The rhythm in this set micro-verses shells our reading minds like soft droplets of mountain drizzle at ease though running deep to chill our bone and marrow, awakening from the slumber of the demonic and menacing pandemic. HOPE. MACHARIA is an editor, published poet, accomplished theatre practitioner and advocate of youth talent. MWANGI is our sterling Kenyan Associate to the Brave Voices Poetry Journal and has been contributing to the Poetry of resistance journal since 2017. Kudos to you great Poet. TIME OF THE POET REPUBLIC rewards Poet MACHARIA with this feature of excellence for his tireless contribution to the growth of young voices and poetry in Kenya, Africa and the entire globe- (Blurb by Mbizo CHIRASHA).
